Art Nouveau is an ornamental style of art that flourished between about 1890 and 1910 throughout Europe and the United States. Art Nouveau is characterized by its use of a long, sinuous, organic line and was employed most often in architecture, interior design, jewelry and glass design, posters, and illustration. I have always admired the flowing lines of design in the Art Nouveau period and for me, the complexity and detail of this period are challenging to emulate. I think this is especially so for design on a computer which tends more easily toward straight lines and designs of a more blocky geometry. For this reason, I’m really proud of the way this Nouveau Ring came out. For me it captures a lot of the fluidity of the Art Nouveau period and does it in a way that retains structural integrity for a ring that will hold up as an heirloom for many generations. I hope you enjoy this design as much as I did making it!
